Not everyone can sit through hours and hours of online video tutorials. In fact, it’s been proven that most people learn best through real-world, hands-on experience with teachers who are not only sensitive to the delicate nuances of individual personalities, but can also tailor their approach according to their student’s specific needs and goals.
I am a thirty + year veteran music producer/sound designer/composer who has released countless original albums and singles, and have done official major label remixes for A-list talent such as Madonna, Seal, David Bowie, Adam Lambert, Deadmau5, Shiny Toy Guns, The Crystal Method, Celldweller, Delerium, BT, Markus Schulz, Paul Oakenfold, America, Johnny Cash, and Frank Sinatra. (just to name a few). I’ve written music that has appeared in major motion pictures such as Bad Boys II, Tomb Raider, and The Art Of War; television shows like CSI, Arrow, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, NFL, NBA and MLB games, and numerous video games. I’m also an accomplished author/teacher on LinkedIn learning (formerly Lynda.com)
“J. Scott is an extremely experienced and seasoned music producer and a great teacher. Very humble and understanding. He has a very upfront and truthful attitude towards his student ( me being one of them). He doesn’t give any false expectation. Learning music production always takes time. You got to stick and learn. ~ Rishi KhettRy ☆☆☆☆☆
“I took the 10 class package and it’s the best investment I’ve made in my music career. Jesse is teaching me everything from the drum sequencing to VSTs to mixing. I wish I had started taking his classes sooner. The classes are on-on-one in his elegant and cozy home studio near the beach.” ~ BJ Hou ☆☆☆☆☆
“Jesse is a great teacher and really takes the time to understand your goals and teaches you how to accomplish them in an efficient and effective manner. He has a wealth of knowledge and is able to convey it so I can understand and apply music production concepts to my own projects. I have noticed a huge difference in the quality of my mixes since taking his lessons. Highly recommend!” ~ Rory Weie ☆☆☆☆☆
“Jesse is a great teacher! With 20 years in music production, he’s very knowledgable and really helped simplify the music production process for me. With just a few lessons I’ve made big progress while learning Ableton and learning to make a new genre. Hopefully within my first month I’ll have a track that’s ready to send off to a label!” ~ Nick T ☆☆☆☆☆
“I’ve had many tutors and help in a lot of cities across the US for learning DAW, digital music production and about proper vocal recording techniques. After having Jesse tutor me and help me in my own studio, as well as learning in his space… I can not ever imagine using anyone else. He is kind, patient, and has real industry experience that is hard to come by. We’re lucky to have him here.” ~ Hope Knapp ☆☆☆☆☆
“I would not recommend Jesse Scott to the faint of heart, the lazy, or the uncommitted. He is the best teacher I have ever learned from, bar-none, and has taught me everything I know about sound design, mixing, and music production. He is thorough, professional, doesn’t waste time with remedial filler lessons, and is worth every penny. The most important thing he has done for me as a teacher, is empowering me with the knowledge to figure out how to answer my own questions. ~ Connor Barron ☆☆☆☆☆
