Activating neurochemical nirvana, one earhole at a time…
With a unique professional journey that has evolved from touring classical trombonist (earning stints with Curtis Institute of Music’s “Curtis on Tour” ensemble, the Colorado Symphony, and alternative rock group Gorillaz) to electronic composer/producer performing at Jay Z’s Made in America festival, Psymphonic meets us today with a tasty hybrid of electronic and acoustic sounds that are just as much a projection of his musical prowess as it is of his metaphysical journey.
Hailing from the esteemed Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, Psymphonic was introduced to electronic music by his roommate, who was also a beat maker. The two began making music together, which served as an early experimentation ground for incorporating trombone into an electronic soundscape. Simultaneously, he continued to keep up his classical chops by performing alongside world-renowned Curtis alumni.
Following his Curtis days, Psymphonic continued to cultivate his electronic identity by spending close to a decade composing and producing music in a variety of genres. Today, his dynamic sound blends classically inspired melodies, chord progressions, and live instrumentation with driving percussion, drum machines, synths, and irresistible bass. In addition, his music powers the Psymphonic Experience, live multi-sensory shows performed by a collective of musicians, dancers, visual artists, and other collaborators, that highlight the immense neurochemical influence of sound wave and light force energy and foster an interactive, communal experience that is emotionally invigorating, enlightening, and inspirational.
Psymphonic currently resides in Portland, OR and his debut EP “Opus One” is scheduled for release on December 21st.
